Old Roman and the Jesus stuff and Jericho and the grateful dead sea scrolls

After another (Israeli) breakfast we inspect a real old synagogue

Ami says he likes us because we are normal(sic)-his 2 most common tourees are Evangelical christian fanatics and fabulously wealthy US Jews from either New York or Boca Raton who are obsessed with luxury and what sort of hairdryers are available in each hotel.
We then do some of the Jesus stuff and look at the boat he used when he wasn't walking on water

and then keeping on the same scene we watched pilgrims being baptised in the old Jordan

Our next stop off is at the old Roman city of Beit Shean
Looking into Jordan

Roman dunnies still in good working order

Lunch is at a very fine Morrocan restaurant

Old Roman swimming hole

Shit starts getting real now as we move into the west bank to visit (Joshua fought the battle of) Jericho which could be described best as "could do better"

Old city is somewhere under all that dirt

We are now headed to the Dead Sea(35% salt cf. ocean 3% salt)

Dead sea scrolls found in these caves

Tonight we spend the night in a hotel full of Russkies
