Sallying forth into Salamanca
First of all a few comments on Madrid's public transport. The service is extremely efficient once one has managed to buy a ticket from the ticket machine. Instructions are given in English which is good however the instuctions are totally garbled and although one wishes to make the simplest purchase of a single trip, one is thwarted at every step. We found that it took longer to purchase a ticket than the journey itself.
Devil machine
Today we travel out to the Salamanca region to take in the balmy ambience of this salubrious suburb. Our first stop is the Mercado de la Paz(no surprises there) and this is what I imagine heaven would be like
We have breakfast at Casa Dani where we have her award winning (Spanish) omlette
We then make our way to the Lazaro Galdiano museum
Mr Galdiano was a fabulously wealthy guy who collected 13000 works of art and then donated his "shack" and its contents to the Spanish state which must have really pleased his kids!
